Nineteenth Ministerial Meeting of the Global Health Security Initiative (GHSI)

Ministers and Official Representatives of the Global Health Security Initiative convened in Paris to discuss emerging health security events and explore joint actions across sectors and countries to protect the respective affected population and people worldwide with the goal to strengthen health security globally. In particular, they acknowledged the challenges posed by the ongoing Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and appreciated the undaunted support of all stakeholders being involved in the outbreak response. They reiterated their common concern that the virus continues to pose a threat to global health security. They expressed determination to remain vigilant in individual and collective response, and to support all necessary efforts to successfully stop EVD transmission in the DRC and limit spread to other countries.
