Twentieth Meeting of the Global Health Security Initiative (GHSI)
4 June 2021 – Oxford, United Kingdom
Ministers and Official Representative of the Global Health Security Initiative (GHSI) met in Oxford to discuss the continued relevance and effectiveness of the GHSI in support of our common purpose – global health security. The response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to require technical collaboration among public health officials to assess emerging risks such as variants of concern and access to vaccines. Aligned with G7 Health Ministers’ commitments, GHSI will continue the frequent sharing of information, which has proven invaluable in support of individual member country decisions related to pandemic response. Ministers and Official Representatives reiterated their support for ongoing collaborative work on health system preparedness for all-hazard events, including chemical, radio-nuclear and biological.
